How do I choose or clone a voice?

When you create a friend, you choose how they sound. You can pick a voice in the app, or clone a voice from reference audio.

Soul builds its own speech model, Soul TTS, for this. It is made for the rhythm, emphasis, and emotional delivery of real speech, not flat narration.

Clone a voice

  1. Open your friend in Soul.
  2. Go to voice settings.
  3. Choose clone, then give the app a short reference clip of the voice you want.
  4. Soul TTS uses that clip as the voice identity, then speaks any text in that voice.

Change a voice later

You can change or re-clone a voice after you have already created your friend. The friendship stays. Only the voice changes.
